Pay Grid: $41.15 - $57.68/hourly
Working as a member of the clinical team and under the direction of the Unit Nurse Manager or RVH Coordinators, the incumbent provides and supports patient care delivery.
Duties will include but are not limited to: • The Registered Nurse utilizes the Nursing Process to assess patient care requirements to contribute to the formulation of the initial care plan to implement, adjust and evaluate the patient care plan. • The Registered Nurse makes consistent decisions within their scope of practice that promotes ownership and demonstrates professionalism and is accountable through competent, ethical and safe practices by: • The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility to maintain competency and engage in reflective practice. • The Registered Nurse ensures the delivery of professional nursing care to a patient or group of patients utilizing evidence-based nursing practice. • The Registered Nurse provides professional leadership. • The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for maintenance of knowledge and skills
QualificationsQualifications: • Current Certification and in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario. • Knowledge acquired through the successful completion and graduation of a recognized RN or BScN program. • Current CPR or BCLS certification, level ‘C’ is required. • Coronary Care Course or EKG Interpretation skills an asset. • Certification in Gerontology is an asset • Education in Geriatrics, i.e Dementia; Delirium; Depression • Experience working with the Elderly population • Gentle Persuasive Approach [GPA] training is an asset • I.V. certification required • Current WHMIS training • Assign appropriate patient to RPN, delegating and supervising specific tasks to PSW/HCA’s. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Demonstrate leadership abilities • Ability to understand, interpret and carry out written and verbal instruction. • Ability to set priorities.
