The Renfrew Victoria Hospital (RVH) is a 55-bed, fully accredited facility located 45 minutes west of Ottawa, serving a catchment area of over 60,000. Part of the Renfrew and Area Health Village, RVH provides medical, surgical, and complex continuing care as well as extensive ambulatory care with over 30,000 emergency and clinic visits per year. We work with EPIC EMR, which connects us to most hospitals in our region.

As the Manager, Medical Imaging, your role will be to oversee the operations of a robust Medical Imaging Department with over 20 full-time and part-time staff (and numerous casual employees), and diagnostic services such as CT, Ultrasound, mammography, OBSP, echocardiography, BMD, x-Ray, ECG and fluoroscopy. We are proud partners with The Ottawa Hospital (TOH)and are integrated with their PACS and EPIC Electronic Health Record System. TOH radiologists provide on-site and remote imaging interpretation services, and we have numerous other partnerships with The University of Ottawa Heart Institute, The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, maternal fetal medicine specialists, and TOH vascular surgeons for specialty diagnostic interpretation services.
Our Medical Imaging department provides excellent service and care, and you will be responsible for upholding this reputation, while prudently managing fiscal, human and material resources, and working collaboratively to identify and implement innovative approaches to solve problems such as reducing wait times. With support, you will lead equipment procurement as needed for your department and are accountable for maintaining compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements. QualificationsIdeally, you have a background as a Medical Radiation Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and will be registered with CMRITO and CAMRT and/or OAMRS and will have at least 5 years of experience working in Medical Imaging. If you have recent management or leadership experience in a hospital setting, or can demonstrate progressive leadership, please identify this in your application as this is a definite asset.
You have working knowledge of Health Information Systems (HIS) and PACS and are truly committed to providing the best possible experience for patients, clients and their families. You are tactful and diplomatic and successful at building relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, such as physicians, nurse managers, vendors, and external partners such as TOH. You are able to communicate complex concepts to a variety of audiences in a way that is understandable.
As an ideal candidate you have: Licensing as an MRT or sonographer with the CMRITO and registration with CAMRT and/or OAMRS; 5 years of experience in medical imaging Recent management or leadership experience in a hospital setting or demonstration of progressive leadership Working knowledge of HIS/PACS systems Tactful, diplomatic, and empathetic. Excellent communication skills (written, verbally)
