Dr. David Carver, MD, FRCSC 

Dr. Janelle Rekman, MD, MAED, FRCSC

Dr. Janelle Rekman completed medical school at the University of Western Ontario and is a graduate of the General Surgery residency program in Ottawa in 2018. Following her residency, she completed extra fellowship training in Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) Surgery at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington for a year before accepting a permanent position as a General Surgeon at Renfrew Victoria Hospital as a full member of the Division of General Surgery at the Ottawa Hospital. Her academic interests stem from her time completing a Masters of Education at the University of Ottawa and involve: writing a curriculum to be used to educate general surgery residents in the era of competency based medical education,  improving the quality of care provided by our surgical services through co-operative quality improvement initiatives, and strengthening the relationship between community hospitals and tertiary surgical providers through evidence based outcomes research.
