RVH implements strict visitor restriction
By now we are all realizing the far-reaching impact of COVID-19.
During these unprecedented times, our main objective at Renfrew Victoria Hospital is to care for and protect all of our patients and their families, our staff and physicians, and also do our part to limit the spread of COVID-19.
As of Saturday March 21, there will be no general visiting at RVH.
The only visitors admitted to the hospital will be limited to ‘essential visitors’ for compassionate reasons, for example imminent end of life.
RVH is providing a phone to each patient (fees will be waived) and has iPads available for Facetime, Skype. etc., so patients are able to connect with loved ones.
Day passes will not be available to patients. However, with the risk of potential exposure to COVID-19 in any public institution, some patients and families may come to the conclusion that they would be safer at home together and that is also an option.
Family members/loved ones can call 613-432-4851 and be directed to the patient’s unit to make arrangements regarding visiting or release.
For those who qualify to visit for compassionate reasons, the following expectations apply:
We ask that you be understanding and respectful given the current situation. Again, these measures are being taken for the safety and protection of all those in our care and our dedicated healthcare workers. We will get through these uncertain times as a strong community working together.
